Hello fellow enthusiasts,

Do any of you Guys & Dolls have any experience with Point & Shoot Cameras? I'm looking for something small ( I commute by motorcycle). I was considering a Pentax OtioWP but after reading the review am sceptical. Since I know the quality of the portfolios on this site is good I'd be interested in hearing your opinions. My only real consideration is that I want to be able to print up to A4 size.

On another matter, why hasn't Canon made a Canonet Q17D? I really dislike manual control thru the use of buttons and menus is it so friggin hard to put a aperture ring and shutter speed dial like what Lieca did on their digital cinderblock. What the hell is wrong with those people!

I use a Nikon 5600 (5 meg pix) and love it. It is very small and has lots of features. Like telephoto and macro.

Check it out. I was able to get it for $249 and that included an Epson printer that I actually gave to a friend.

http://tinyurl.com/g6pah link goes to the new Ricoh GR Digital Point & Shoot 8mp Digital Camera,

If I were looking for a small P&S I would go with an Olympus, but I like the Stylus film P&S so that maybe clouding my judgement

I'd get the Fuji F10, F11, or F30 (I believe the F30 is the first P&S that can shoot at ISO 3200).

They all have low-noise levels at up to 1600 ISO that rival DSLR chips (seriously). Apparently the "Super CCD" delivers the low noise that its advertising promises. Check out the reviews on these. You'll be avoiding the bane of point n' shoots....high noise beyond 200-400 (or even 100 in some cases).

Pete.

P.S. If you want to save a bit of cash, you could pick up a used e550 which shoots up to ISO 800 and also has good reviews on noise quality.

There's a Panasonic Lumix 8MP called the LX-1 (I think) that has been out a few months and received generally favorable comments. It's now about $500, but you can probably get it for less if you snoop around. There's also a Leica version of it for about $200 more.
