I am really fond of the 50 1.4 but i would like something a bit wider with a fast f stop. The 25mm 2.8 is very tempting as 50 and 24 have been my most used lenses for 35mm. However, since I`m also using a d200 , 25mm might not be wide enough(1.5 crop). Maybe a 21mm 2.8 would be nice

It would be VERY nice....and very expensive. Wish I had one in my bag.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that CV will come out with something WIDE in the SL II line. I got the 58/1.4 am very impressed with the build. I'm hoping for something around an 18/2.8.

I would not replace any of the Nikkor glass I have left (24, 28, 35, 105, 180 ED) but I need something wider for that body.

Hi, Bill.

The Nikon 28mm F2.8 AIS is outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate, though, to replace the 24mm if it's anything like the AIS I tried. You'd do better with a used Sigma Nikon-mount 24mm lens. Same design as my Canon Sigma-mount 24mm lens. You can get em' cheap, and they are terrific stopped down (1:4 macro, too).

maybe be will see the light of a new 18mm/2.8. see zeiss-contax-datasheets. or search for zeiss 25 apo-pc-distagon (italian site). the PC is 3.5 not 2.8-photo.net-info of me is wrong.i have never seen the 18mm neighte the 25mm. hartblei announced a 24mm pc -multiple mount not socket like schneider pc-superangulon 28(29.2). a socket-system would be better. adding adapters will decrease lens-power. nikon 24mm tilt-shift/pc is 1640 only. so hartblei must work very hard to beat that price or better-offer a better solution. i have the old 18mm. soon i will shoot panoramas-with analogue-contax.
